Based in Washington, D.C., Tori Fernandez Whitney is an innovative and results driven public sector and non-profit executive with a strong history of helping organizations meet long-term goals and manage change. Ms. Fernandez Whitney’s professional career of almost 20 years as both an independent consultant and public sector executive includes senior executive positions with non-profit, global, federal, and state/local agencies. Adept at building and motivating high quality cross-functional teams, Tori Fernandez Whitney develops the capacity of organizations to strategically plan, evaluate, and implement changes in fluid political and fiscal environments.
Additionally, Tori Fernandez Whitney serves as a management consultant with Tenner Consulting, where she helps clients manage organizational changes and growth and evaluate business operations to improve efficiencies and strengthen infrastructure. She applies strategic management frameworks to implement organizational priorities and develops policies and procedures that strengthen internal controls and procurement processes.
Tori Fernandez Whitney has years of experience in advising and strategic leadership. She previously served as senior campaign advisor for Barbara Washington Franklin for Congress and chief of staff and chief operating officer for the Office of the District of Columbia Auditor. Additionally, she was a strategic advisor for Intellectual Concepts, LLC, and senior advisor and chief of staff for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Global HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis. She holds a BA in political science and an MPA from American University.
Away from the office, Ms. Fernandez Whitney has a variety of interests, including international travel and theater. She is also an avid student of wine, and holds WSET Level 1 certification in this field.
